Greg Shailer recognised for 25 years of service

Associate Professor Greg Shailer from the ANU Research School of Accounting has been recognised by outgoing Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Young for twenty five years of service to ANU.

He is the Director of the Australian National Centre for Audit & Assurance Research (ANCAAR) and he has been the Deputy Director (Research) for the ANU Research School of Accounting. He has also served as an Associate Dean, an elected member of the ANU Board of the Faculties and its Steering Committee, Co-Chair of the ANU Faculties Research Grants Committee, and Convenor of Graduate Studies in Business.

During his time at ANU, Dr Shailer has published many journal and conference papers on corporate governance and the economics and regulation of auditing. He has supervised 24 PhD students, and in 2011 received the CBE Award for Excellence in Research Supervision. In 2012, he received an ANU Commendation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.

He has recently joined the SIRCA Membership and Research Committee, joining other senior researchers working to advance SIRCA’s mission "to develop and provide relevant global data and advanced tools to promote and enable financial research and innovation, particularly by member universities".

Professor Shirley Leitch, Dean of the College of Business and Economics commended Dr Shailer for his efforts over the years.
